Magnet Schools

School Choice programs and magnet schools aim to bring together students from various districts to learn in diverse, high-quality educational environments. Magnet schools, in particular, are created to enroll students from a wide range of social, economic, racial, and ethnic backgrounds. These schools often specialize in particular subjects like science or the arts, follow themes such as technology, business, or law, or use models like career academies or school-within-a-school setups. In Connecticut, both interdistrict (across districts) and intradistrict (within the same district) magnet schools are available.
